St. Maarten parliamentary year closes today with public meeting


PHILIPSBURG–Members of Parliament will meet today, Monday, for the closing session of the 2012-2013 Parliamentary Year. This public plenary session of Parliament in Parliament House will start at 10:00am. Fraction leaders in Parliament will deliver closing statements reviewing the year that has passed and expectations for the new year starting on Tuesday.

Governor Eugene Holiday will deliver government’s plan of action for the coming year at Tuesday’s solemn session of Parliament. This session also will start at 10:00am.

The public is invited to Parliament House for the closing session on Monday. However, Tuesday’s session is only for invited guests, dignitaries, the judicial branch and members of the High Councils of State.

Both sessions will be broadcast live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, and .
