Saba executive council has positive meeting with cft

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

SABA – The Executive Council of Saba met with the Committee for Financial Supervision CFT last week to discuss various matters related to the island’s finances.

Among the topics discussed during last week’s meeting were the Budgets for 2012 and 2013, as well as the Annual Report of 2013. The Executive Council also outlined their plans for the 2014 Budget.   Commissioner of Finance Bruce Zagers described the meeting as “positive” with CFT members remarking on the “significant progress” Saba has made in its reporting requirements.   Zagers said he was pleased with the remarks and has made it a priority as Finance Commissioner to ensure that the island’s finances are well-managed.   The meeting was scheduled as part of regular contacts during which both parties exchange information. Saba is also to receive feedback on whether or not it is meeting its prescribed obligations as laid out by CFT.
